Laundry Rooms & Mud Rooms

Laundry rooms are not necessarily our favourite room in the house, but they are important.  Whether your laundry facility consists of a closet, a nook or a full room complete with cupboards, shelving and folding areas, it’s a part of your home and buyers will want to see it.

Should you stage your laundry room prior to listing?  Absolutely!  This is one room that does not need to look like a designer showcase, but should be clean, bright and clutter-free, with attractive storage areas.  Every potential buyer will stick their nose into your laundry room, but they won’t spend a lot of time there.  All they need to see at a glance is that it is a functional, organized space.  So, put away the detergents and bottles, and tuck the ironing board into a closet.  If you have the luxury of shelving, display some baskets and folded towels (less is more, here!).

If you have wall space, hang a piece of attractive art, to brighten up the room and elevate it to the next level.  Buyers will appreciate that extra touch!
